openBIM® and Open GIS for Cities
How can openBIM® (IFC), open GIS (CityGML), and open web technology (Cesium) be integrated for creating a scalable platform on an urban scale? Can the integration process be made repeatable on an urban scale? Will requiring IFC model as a legal document (IFC MALD) help the process? Commissioned by a government agency, a group of BIM+GIS experts from the European Union, Asia, and the US are working to address these questions and hope to share the findings.
